These are a few pictures of Valentine's Day weekend.  We made a heart-shaped chocolate cake for the occasion.  It has been a tradition to make a heart shaped cake around this time of year.  It either ends up being baked for Mom's birthday (earlier in the month) or for Valentine's Day. 

 



After accidentally putting a whole cup of water into the cake instead of a half cup, I decided to double the recipe... Cake anyone?

 

Mom used her expertise in making the frosting, which turns out like a spreadable fudge. Yum :)



We had a lovely afternoon enjoying good food, flowers, and each others company...
